A bit of irony in the fact that I‘m posting, on our newly integrated corporate blogging platform, my first entry for YourCause.com some two years after we launched the company. Then again, perhaps it points to the fact that our focus simply hasn’t gone towards talking about what we are doing. For whatever the excuse may be, I’m glad to finally be posting on behalf of the company.
My first post comes within 24-hours of when 13 people were killed and 30+ more are injured at the nation’s largest military base (again, some irony in that), and then another dozen or so people are injured in Orlando at an office park. What’s going on? … seriously, what on earth is happening to our society?
Have things just gotten that complicated that the only way to resolve one’s personal issues is to (or even attempt to) take the lives of others? And it’s not just here, it’s all over. It’s not isolated to one race, religion, age group, country, or region. It’s almost as if this is just a part of the evolutionary process, as its frequency is getting greater, its impact becoming more severe, and gradually, it’s getting closer and closer to home.
Whatever the answer may be to the chaos we see day-in and day-out on the news, I am hoping that it won’t serve as the basis for all my blog post. Maybe I should say, I am going to do everything I can to make sure that I don’t make such topics the focus on what I write – if that is at all possible.
